Race Description
Race Overview
The Ironbridge Half Marathon is organised by Telford Harriers. This race offers participants a scenic route through the historic Ironbridge area, combining elements of both urban and rural landscapes.
Course Details
The course spans a distance of 13.1 miles. It features a primarily flat and smooth terrain, suitable for all runners, from beginners to experienced athletes. Elevation gain and loss are minimal, making it ideal for achieving personal bests. The surface includes asphalt roads and well-maintained paths.
Route Description
Runners will start and finish at the QEII Arena, located at:
QEII Arena, Telford, TF3 4JSThe course takes participants along the River Severn, with notable landmarks including the iconic Iron Bridge and Telford Town Park. Key turns are marked clearly, ensuring a navigable route. The course follows local roads with appropriate signage.
Water and Aid Stations
Aid stations are strategically positioned throughout the course. Water will be available at miles 4, 8, and 11. Additional nutrition and electrolyte options will be provided at the 8-mile station.
Timing and Pace Requirements
There are cut-off times for the race, with a time limit of 3 hours for completion. Runners should maintain a pace of 13:45 per mile or faster to avoid disqualification.
Entry Fees and Registration
The entry fee for the race is set at £30 for affiliated runners and £35 for non-affiliated runners. Early bird registration is open until December 31, 2025. Regular registration will close on March 1, 2026, or once capacity is reached.
Parking and Transportation
Participants are encouraged to carpool or use public transport, as parking at the QEII Arena is limited. Local bus services regularly connect the area with surrounding towns, and a designated parking area is available. Additional bike racks will be provided for cyclists.
