Race Description:

The Bacchus half marathon is now the main even replacing the marathon that ran.

Each runner will receive a finisher's medal, all wines and food at the drinks stations (marathon runners visit each station twice), a high quality  technical T-shirt, a ticket to the post-race hog roast with complimentary drink, free parking, medical support throughout, secure baggage and free digital downloads of your race photographs for personal use.

Each runner has the chance to sample six fabulous English wines (12 for marathon runners), at five drinks stations along the course with two wines served at the last station,

The route is now one lap (Half) instead of the two laps that were the full marathon and starts and finishes at the main building inside Denbies Vineyard near Dorking, Surrey.

The route is undulating (with one significant hill) and multi-terrain with a bias towards road. Half of the course is inside the beautiful Denbies Wine Estate, the other half passes through National Trust countryside and woodland  along the Pilgrims Way and North Downs Way.

It is a demanding route but also a beautiful one offering breath-taking views over the Mole Valley, Ranmore Common and the North Downs. Although some runners choose to run it as quickly as possible, most take a lighter view of the day and take their time to make the most of the sampling  stations along the route.
