Race Description

The Benidorm Half takes place annually in November in Benidorm, Spain. The event includes a 21K half marathon and a 10K race, both on courses approved by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. The race starts at sunset and finishes after dark, covering sections through the historic centre, the seafront promenade, and main city avenues.

Runners are provided with refreshment stations at kilometres 5, 10/11, and 15, along with both liquid and solid supplies at the finish. The event includes personalised bibs, pace teams, medical support, and post-race services such as a finisher’s medal, t-shirt, and runner’s bags.

The Benidorm Half Marathon offers an opportunity for runners to compete on a scenic and predominantly flat course set along the beautiful Costa Blanca. The race is designed to be accessible to runners of all levels, featuring a route that starts and finishes along the picturesque beachfront promenade.

The race begins at the Paseo de la Playa de Levante, providing stunning ocean views as participants set off. Runners will navigate a well-marked course that includes turn points at various strategic locations, such as the small park near Avenida del Mediterráneo and the roundabout at the end of Calle de La Paz. This structured course layout ensures that runners are able to maintain their pace and stay oriented throughout the race.

Water stations are positioned at miles 4, 8, and 11, with additional aid available at these points including hydration and some sports nutrition options. Medical assistance will also be readily available along the route for any emergencies.

The start of the race is located at Calle de la Palma, near the beach, and finishes back at Paseo de la Playa de Levante, creating a comprehensive loop that provides a continuous experience by the sea.

Runners should be aware of cut-off times to ensure they complete the race within the time limits. A maximum time limit of 2 hours and 30 minutes is set for finishing the half marathon, which translates to an average pace of approximately 7 minutes per kilometer. Early finishers can expect to enjoy the post-race festivities and refreshments available at the finish line area.

Entry fees for the Benidorm Half Marathon are set at €30 until the registration deadline, which is typically two weeks before the race date. Participants who wish to register on the day of the event may incur additional fees, so early registration is advisable.
