The Birmingham Black Country Half Marathon is a point to point race on the canal towpath which has water stations every 3 miles and easily accessible start and finish points. The event starts in the Canal and River Trust Boat yard in Wolverhampton and the finish is near the Birmingham Sealife centre in Brindley Place. A personalised bib is available if a race entry is early enough state the race organisers. The conditions underfoot vary from gravel tracks to trails to smooth pavement.
The route is mainly flat with locks and bridges as the only inclines. The race route also includes 'Coseley Tunnel' a 360 metre tunnel which runners pass through.
