Race Description:

RACE DISCONTINUED

The Bournemouth Half Marathon course uses both Boscombe and Bournemouth piers along this coastal race.

The Bournemouth Half Marathon starts at Hengistbury Head, which divides Poole and Christchurch bays.  The first 5 miles of the route goes along the cliff tops before descending onto the seafront and running along the promenade with Boscombe Pier in sight.  A short incline at Mile 8 brings you back up to the overcliff to enjoy a new view of Bournemouth Pier and Poole beyond.  After this the route passes by the Russell Coates Museum on the way down to Pier Approach and then back out to the end of Boscombe Pier where there are wooden pier boards beneath you.  There is one final stretch on the promenade, alongside Bournemouth’s beaches before you once again tread the boards of your second pier, Bournemouth Pier and then finish on the Bournemouth Pier Approach.

Runners receive a fabulous goodie bag including:

  • Wicking finisher's t-shirt
  • Accurate chip timing
  • Tailored training plan
  • Finisher's medal
  • Race recovery pack
  • Keyring
