Race Description:
The Essar Chester Half Marathon is a well established race and has a fast and flat route. The course is run on entirely closed roads. Runners who complete the Chester 10k, Chester half marathon and the Chester marathon will receive the Chester Triple Medal. The 2022 edition was the 40th running of the event.
The race starts from the racecourse like the marathon does. It then proceeds into the city centre and then leads out north west from the city. Wide roads are used to eleviate any crowding. Runners turn at Saughall and follow much of the outward route on their way home. The finish is in the city centre outside the town hall and cathedral in front of the crowds.
Drinks stations available every 3 miles. The race is chip timed with splits at 5k, 10k, 15k and 20k. Finishers will receive a technical tee, a medal and a goody bag.
