Race Description:
The Great Scottish Run starts in George Square in the heart of the city centre. Runners cross the Clyde twice using the Kingston Bridge and Clyde Arc. The race goes from the city centre streets to the quiet of Pollok Park. Water will be available at regular points along the route in the form of Aqua Pura and in case of hot weather there will also be a run through shower at about 8 miles. To keep spirits high along the route there will be bagpipers, drumming bands, live music, charity cheering points and ‘Wall of Sound’ zones.
Runners receive:
- Access to the free Great Run app to allow your loved ones to track your progress along the route
- Access to the Great Run information point for any last minute queries (or safety pins)
- Closed roads offering a safe running environment
- Food and drink options to refuel
- A shiny new medal, an exclusive finishers t-shirt plus a finisher’s bag filled with goodies
- Plenty of medical support all around our routes should you ever need any assistance
- A huge round of applause as you cross the finish
