Race Description:
The Inverness Half Marathon is an ideal springtime challenge to keep your training on track and your motivation high. This well-loved event features a picturesque course with excellent potential for personal bests, winding through the beautiful Highland capital of Inverness.
Starting by the scenic banks of the River Ness near the city centre, the route showcases many of Inverness’s landmarks. As you near the finish line, you’ll be greeted with the signature warmth of Highland hospitality.
The race commences alongside the banks of the River Ness, close to the centre of Inverness. Mainly run on tarmac, with a little grass and finally onto the running track for the grand finish.
The Inverness Half Marathon starts at Bught Park and follows the River Ness through scenic city streets, passing landmarks like Inverness Castle. The route heads south along the B862 towards Dores, before turning onto quiet rural roads through Torbreck and residential areas in Lochardil and Drummond. Runners return via Holm roundabout and the B862, crossing Ness Bridge once more and finishing on the track at Queens Park Stadium.
