This race has been cancelled in 2023: An update from the race organisers -
"In 2022 we made the decision to go ahead with the Lichfield Half Marathon event though we knew we were going to lose thousands of pounds due to lower entry levels and increased logistic costs. But we wanted to bring our loyal participants a well needed event.
Things have improved and the Tamworth 10k and the iconic Fradley 10k were good entry numbers in 2022. However with less than seven weeks to go until the 2023 Lichfield Half Marathon entries are again very low and we are unable to sustain a similar financial loss again, or KP Events will be unable to continue. So unfortunately I have to inform you that the 2023 Lichfield Half Marathon will not take place this year."
Race information:
The Lichfield Half Marathon has a city centre start and finish along with rural course route. The Four Oaks Financial Services Lichfield Half Marathon attracts in excess of 1500 competitors. The event is organised by KP Events. The race is located in the historic market city of Lichfield, famous for its three spired cathedral and the birthplace of Dr Johnson (author of the first English dictionary). Lichfield is located 16 miles north of Birmingham and easily accessible via the M6 Toll, A51 and A38.
The Lichfield Half Marathon starts from the playing fields in front of King Edward VI School and then turns left on to the A51 and proceed along Tamworth Road. The route takes runners towards and through Whittington and then on through rural roads past the outskirts of Fradley, before heading back towards Lichfield via Netherstowe, and finally ending at Stowe Fields which is situated between Stowe Pool and the Cathedral.
