Race Description:

The Marathon du Medoc - registration.  An absolute must on your race calendar if you are a marathon runner and would like the opportunity to enjoy the race day atmosphere for a change. With 90% of runners running in fancy dress, it sets the scene for the day. The theme for 2022 is "Cinema" !

The Marathon du Médoc (or to give it it’s official name Le Marathon les Chateaux du Médoc) is held every year in Pauillac, north of Bordeaux and runs through many vineyards and chateaux of the area including: Pauillac, Saint-Julien, Saint-Estèphe, Médoc and Haut-Médoc.

The marathon has been many times quoted as being ‘the longest marathon in the world’ due to the fact that there is so much going on along the course. From around 50 orchestras to keep you entertained, wine tasting at every drinks station, oyster tasting and even a ‘steak’ at the 39km point.

Interest in this marathon spans across the world with more than 8,500 participants from over 50 nations joining in the fun and with an army of almost 3,000 volunteers. All french races require participants to provide a medical certificate prior to the number collection which must include several criteria.
