Race Description:
The Marathon Training Day in MK has been designed to provide training runs for those running the London Marathon, other autumn marathons or those just wanting a great summer race around Milton Keynes. There are various distances available 20 miles, 15 miles, 10 miles and 5 mile. The loop is approximately 5 miles so the 20 miles race is 4 laps.
The route starts and finishes at Willen Lake and goes past the Medicine Wheel stones and stunning Peace Pagoda continue to run by the lake before branching off to run along the Grand Union Canal. After the canal boats in the Campbell Wharf Marina the lap carries on canal-side before running through picturesque parkland back to Willen Lake.
Water will be available on the course at the halfway point on the loop and as you pass the end of each loop. So, if running laps, you will receive water at: 2.5m, 5m, 7.5m, 10m, 12.5m, 15m, 17.5m and everyone receives water at the finish line.
