Race Description:
The Munich Marathon route runs from the Olympic Park to Leopoldstraße with the Victory Gate, via Königsplatz and the Pinakotheken to the English Garden. From there it passes the Chinese Tower and Bogenhausen Art Nouveau villas, through the east of Munich and over the Isar Bridge. Then it’s off from Marienplatz to the Viktualienmarkt. Then onwards via the Bavarian State Opera and our Residenz to Odeonsplatz. The final section goes via the Theatinerkirche over Ludwigstraße back to the Olympic Stadium.
One big advantage for runners is the option to have the race pack with bib number shipped to you so you don't have to pick up from the expo but that is also an option. The costs for sending the bib number before the event is 7.90 EUR for Germany, 9.90 EUR for Europe and 14.90 EUR for the rest of the world.
Free transport in the MVV area on the marathon Sunday. Clothes drop and showers. Physiotherapy is available after the race. There is also free use of the runGMM app for training and as an event guide
Refreshment stations will be located at the kilometre points KM 7.5, 14, 18, 24, 28.5, 35 and 39. At the refreshment stations, M-water, Barebells bars and bananas will be offered. In addition to the refreshment stations, there will be drinking stations with M-water at KM 5.5, 11, 26.5 and 32.
