Race Description:
Race is discontinued:
The Newton's Fraction Half Marathon is organised by Grantham Athletic Club. The race has a stadium start and finish at the South Kesteven Sports Stadium. It is a certified accurate course, run under UKA rules which is an undulating figure of 8 course.
Unfortunately the 2022 event was cancelled according to the organisers because because the race was in the congested autumn slot and therefore the significantly low number of entries combined with the escalating financial risk before the club led to the cancellation of the event.
The course heads out of town into the countryside onto the Grantham to Nottingham Canal towpath for nearly 3 miles to Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir, taking in a couple of testing hills , before returning to the stadium for a grandstand finish.
The race organiser states that there is plenty of on-site parking, refreshments, a Lincolnshire Runner stall, bar and each finisher gets a t-shirt, medal.
The water stations will be situated at approximately 3¾, 5¾, 8 and 10¾ miles along the route and also at the finish.
