Race Description:
The Philadelphia Marathon is stated as a beautiful, fast and scenic course - it is pretty flat. The course takes you through Fairmount Park and along the Schuylkill River and onto University City and Manayunk. The race goes through the streets of the historic district, passing sights familiar to Franklin and Washington. The final part is towards the steps of the superb Art Museum, the Rocky steps!
Race timings are provided at the 10K, 13.1 mile and 30K marks along the course, and water stations and spectator overlooks are set up throughout the course. The Philadelphia Marathon Weekend Events are USATF sanctioned and course-certified. A virtual option is available for those who wish to participate from a location of their choice and will have the month of November to complete their run. There is a great story map of the course to look through on the official race website.
