Race Description

Race discontinued...

The Pontefract half marathon was last run in 2019 with no race organised since then.  

 

Leaving and finishing in Pontefract Town Centre, the half marathon is back for a fourth year after much success in previous years. The race includes an officially measured route which is fully chip timed. There are water stations and toilet facilities available. All half marathon race finishers receive a medal, T-shirt and goody bag. Race numbers will be posted out to participants 2 weeks before the run.

Pontefract Half Marathon Course Route

The race starts at the Cornmarket in Pontefract town centre. It then takes you out of Pontefract and into the beautiful countryside through Ackworth Wentbridge and Carleton before heading back into town. The race then finishes with a great lap of the town centre before the finish line on the cobbles of Market Place.
