Race Description:

The Potters `Arf Half Marathon has 4 available events to participate in - a half marathon run, a half marathon walk, a relay and a junior race.

The Potters ‘Arf race has a fantastic heritage. It was founded by Don Shelley as the Potteries Marathon in 1982 which, since 2005, became the Potters `Arf. The route finishes in the city centre and finishers receive special Potteries medals created by Wade Ceramics. Participants gather at Huntbach Street in Hanley and after a short walk runners start on Potteries Way at 10.00am to cheers from the supporters. The half marathon is a challenging route including the infamous ‘Heartbreak Hill’ . The race follows a well-marshalled route with great support finishing back in the city centre near the Sir Stanley Matthews statue.
