Race Description

The Zurich Marathon in San Sebastián is scheduled for November 23, 2025, and offers an urban marathon experience characterized by its scenic backdrop and a relatively flat course well-suited for both novice and experienced runners. The course primarily consists of asphalt and provides an average elevation gain of 100 meters, with no significant hills, making it accessible for a variety of pace levels.

The race begins at the Plaza de la Constitución, located at Plaza de la Constitución, San Sebastián, and follows a looped route that meanders through several iconic landmarks including the beautiful La Concha beach and the picturesque Old Town. Runners will pass notable sites such as the San Telmo Museoa and the Ondarreta beach before returning to the finishing point at the same plaza. Key turning points include a right turn at the Aiete Park and a left turn towards the Zurriola beach, which will be clearly marked along the route.

Course Map

Detailed maps showing the specific route will be made available closer to the race date. Meanwhile, participants can expect the course to accommodate a broad section of the city, ensuring a visually stimulating experience throughout the race.

Elevation Profile

The elevation profile indicates a generally flat terrain with only slight undulations, making it conducive for personal bests. The maximum elevation will not exceed 50 meters above sea level.

Water and aid stations will be strategically placed at miles 4, 8, and 11, providing runners with hydration and energy supplements. Stations will include both water and electrolyte drinks, as well as snacks such as bananas and energy gels.

The race features a time limit of 6 hours for completing the marathon, requiring an average pace of approximately 13:45 minutes per mile. Participants who exceed this limit may not be able to finish and will be directed to the nearest transport stop.

Entry fees for the marathon are set at €70 for registrations completed by October 1, 2025. Late registration will be available until November 15, 2025, at a fee of €90. All participants must register through the official website to secure their spot.

Parking options are available near the starting point, with designated areas identified for race participants. Public transportation, including buses and trams, runs frequently and will have special schedules on race day, making it easier for participants and spectators to access the event.

Race amenities include a finisher's medal for all participants, along with a commemorative t-shirt. Refreshments will be served at the finish line, featuring snacks and drinks for runners to replenish after their race.

For further updates, participants are encouraged to check the official race website as the event date approaches.
