Race Description:
The Shakespeare marathon (and also half marathon) is perfect whether you’re a newbie marathon runner or a more seasoned athlete looking for a personal best. The stunning course is wonderfully organised and is well marshalled offering the chance to experience world famous Stratford-upon-Avon and to run amongst some of the most historical buildings in the country and through miles of the beautiful Warwickshire countryside.
The course is mainly fast and flat, taking in popular sights such as the River Avon, Holy Trinity Church (home to the grave of William Shakespeare) and the Royal Shakespeare Theatres. You’ll run through quintessential English villages, with chocolate box thatch roof cottages, hump back bridges and pretty dry stone walls.
