Formerly know as the Pre-Potts 20, the newly named South Cheshire 20 mile race is a popular one due to the autumn marathon season. This 20 mile course is a one loop race, run on mainly country lanes through the villages of Weston, Englesea Brook, Betley, Wrinehill, Shraleybrook, Audley, Barthomley and is described as 'frequently hilly'. Finishers receive a memento and email certificate and also free photos which is a great bonus.
The race starts and finishes at the Shavingtom Sports Centre and has support and regular refreshment stations. There is a 4 hour time limit on the race. The race is a good one for marathon preparation as it comes 4 weeks before Chester marathon as well as London and Loch Ness marathons.
