Race Description:
The Southampton Half Marathon (reviewed in Runner's World magazine March 2022) starts and finishes at the centrally located Southampton Guildhall Square.
The Southampton Half Marathon is a single lap course taking in all the benefits of Southampton -there are green parks, running near the shoreline, riverside sections and sections through the city's historic landmarks too.
The route begins in the city centre and runs past ABP Southampton docks, then over the Itchen Bridge with it's great views out to Southampton waters, the Solent and the wonderful New Forest.
Following a section by the shoreline at Weston Shore, the return over the Bridge takes you actually inside the legendary St Mary’s Football Stadium (home to Saints FC!) Passing over Northam Bridge with riverside views again, you run through the beautiful Riverside Park before crossing into Portswood and running through the Southampton Common (home to the UK’s second largest parkrun!)
Each runner receives a medal and finisher T-shirt.
