Race Description:
The Stroud Half Marathon starts and finishes on the Cainscross Road, adjacent to Marling School field. The course is entirely on road and is mainly flat and fast with a steady rise between 6 and 7 miles (along the A38). The route will be clearly marked and marshalled. An officially measured change of route has been made this year, utilising the newly developed Great Oldbury Drive.
There are 2 water stations at about 4.5 and 9 miles and at the finish on the field. The Stroud half marathon is a cupless event - the race organisers state there will be no disposable cups at the water stations. Instead volunteers will fill the bottles /cups you provide. Therefore it is a request to bring your own drinking vessel and help the environment.
Stroud is a market town and civil parish in the centre of Gloucestershire, England. It is the main town in Stroud District. Stroud is known for its involvement in the Industrial Revolution and its rich artistic and cultural heritage. It is also surrounded by five valleys and has a diverse natural environment.
