Race Description:
The Big Half is organised by the London Marathon team and is a one day even running festival with options for runners of all capabilities, celebrating cultural diversity in London. The 13.1 mile flat route starts at Tower Bridge and finishes at Cutty Sark in Greenwich. The race passes through the boroughs of Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Lewisham and Greenwich. There are water stations at Miles 3,6 and 10 as well as a Lucozade Sport station at Mile 8. Water will also be available at the finish and the finisher bag will contain Lucozade Sport. The great Sir Mo Farah, the two time previous winner of the Big Half will be running in the 2022 event.
Entries in The Vitality Big Half are non-refundable and non-transferrable. The 2023 Big Half was the third successive year that The Big Half has taken place in the later part of the year rather than its original March date.
Results for the Big Half marathon can be found here: https://results.londonmarathonevents.co.uk/
One tree per person will be planted if you choose NOT to receive a New Balance finisher's T-shirt and/or a finisher's medal.
The elite winners of the 2022 edition of the Big Half were Mo Farah and Eilish McColgan. Around 12,500 competed in the event. 2023 marked the last competitive race in London for Mo Farah and his penultimate ever race.
