Race Description:

The Vienna City Marathon race starts at 9:00 am at the Vienna International Centre and finishes at the Heldenplatz. The course is 42.195 kilometers long and takes runners past some of Vienna's most famous landmarks, including the Hofburg Palace, the Schönbrunn Palace, and the Prater amusement park.

From the start at the Reichsbrücke to the finish on the Ringstrasse between the Burgtheater and Rathausplatz: the Vienna City Marathon takes you to the most impressive highlights of Vienna. A highlight is the Prater Hauptallee - World Heritage Site of athletics and "venue of the first marathon under two hours by Eliud Kipchoge.

The Vienna City Marathon is one of the most popular marathons in Europe, with over 40,000 participants in 2019. The race is well-organized and has a festive atmosphere, with spectators lining the streets to cheer on the runners.
