Race Description:
The Water of Leith half marathon start area is just outside of Balerno, on a farm track off Harlow Road and the finish area is Coalhill, Leith. There will be marshals at all difficult road crossings and runners are advised that no roads have been closed for the race so to keep their wits about them when crossing roads, of which there are only a few.
The route will also be floured the day before at any junctions to keep the runners on the correct path. The race is a point to point and starts in the SW of Edinburgh beyond Balerno and winds you through the city along the Water of Leith pathways to Coalhill, Leith.
The Water of Leith half marathon is a handicapped race with a max time of 2h30, slowest runners start at 10am. The race organisers do not foresee having more than 150 runners taking part as they wish to keep it small, manageable and to reduce impact on the pathways.
There is an the option to book a seat on the coach to take you from the finish area to the start line.
