Starting in George Square in the heart of the city centre. Runners cross the Clyde twice using the Kingston Bridge and Clyde Arc. The race goes rom the city centre streets to the quiet of Pollok Park. Water will be available at regular points along the route in the form of Aqua Pura and in case of hot weather there will also be a run through shower at about 8 miles. To keep spirits high along the route there will be bagpipers, drumming bands, live music, charity cheering points and ‘Wall of Sound’ zones.
What is the route for the Great Scottish Run?
Starting at George Square, the Great Scottish Run is a mainly flat, fast route from Glasgow's city centre. It heads towards scenic Bellahousten Park and Pollok Park before turning back towards the city centre and finishing at Glasgow Green.
